Mega events like the IRONMAN 70.3 Puerto Princesa - Asia Tri-Club Championship exemplify the city's dedication to endurance sports. The recent championship saw 523 athletes from 38 countries testing their mettle in a grueling course that covered 113.0 kilometers.

The Legends Ride 2023, with the Subaraw Biodiversity Festival, further exemplifies Puerto Princesa's commitment to engaging visitors through sports. The event brought together 200 riders from different parts of the country, fostering camaraderie and showcasing the city's attractions.

In water sports, the International Dragon Boat Festival has become a highlight on Puerto Princesa's sporting calendar. Teams from Chinese Taipei, Manila, Cebu, and Siargao battled it out in a thrilling display of strength and teamwork. The event drew international participants and showcased the city's capability to host and organize top-notch competitions.

As Puerto Princesa basks in the success of these events, Mayor Bayron expresses confidence in the city's future as a sports tourism destination. The support of the local community, government officials, and organizations ensures that Puerto Princesa continues to shine for its eco-tourism wealth and as the aspiring Sports Tourism Capital of the Philippines.
