Watch out for this year’s Best Mommy Cuisinera

This year, leading cooking gas brand Solane looks for the best kusinera mom, as it holds the Cuisinera Challenge: 2015 Mommy Edition!

Happening this July 31 at the Center for Culinary Arts, Manila, Cuisinera Challenge is a cook-off where contestants are tasked to prepare their rendition of an original recipe that can be prepared in 30 minutes.

Through this contest, Solane hopes to show that great Filipino family food is not only those prepared by chefs in restaurants, but also by loving moms at home. Serving as the program adviser is Filipino food promoter, culinary researcher and food journalist Nancy Reyes-Lumen.

At the cook-off, dishes will be judged according to taste (40 points), plating and presentation (30 points), ease of preparation (20 points), and originality and creativity (10 points). Five (5) bonus points may also be given by the judge, and another five (5) for safety and sanitary practice.

Three Cuisinera Challenge winners will be selected based on the total scores, to be announced right after the cook-off. The grand winner will take home P30,000, a one-year supply of Solane LPG and eight 11-kg Solane refill gift certificates. The second and third place winner will be awarded P10,000 and P5,000 respectively. The remaining final participants will receive a Solane gift pack: Solane USBs, branded aprons and collectible mugs.

The Cuisinera Challenge is open to Filipina moms aged 22-50 years old who live in Metro Manila and Greater Manila Area: Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, and Pampanga. Contestants should hold no professional cooking credentials or chef duties in any establishment.

The 20 contestants for the cook-off round are chosen based on earlier submissions of an original 30-minute recipe with the name of the dish, ingredients, procedure, photos of the dish, a short description, and a history of the recipe.

The Cuisinera Challenge: 2015 Mommy Edition is organized by Solane LPG with event sponsors Ramesh Trading Corporation, Monde M.Y. San and Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation.
