Selecting the Right Fashion Accessories

Just as clothes make the man, the right fashion accessories can make any outfit stand out. You may have the loveliest dress in the world but if you lack the proper accessories, it will always lack something. In contrast, your dress may be simple but you can really make it shine if you know how to accessorize.

In selecting jewelry, choose one that goes well with your skin color and highlights your best features. Don’t look like a Christmas tree. Wear the right jewelry for the right occasion. For instance, if you’re attending a bowling party, wearing diamonds can make you look like a fool.

Don’t overdo it. Your jewelry should complement your attire not overshadow it. Wear the right-sized jewelry. Avoid oversized earrings and see to it that your rings fit properly. Choose earrings that go well with your face and  hairstyle.

A good belt won’t only hold up your pants; it will lift your personality. With a solid colored outfit, pick a patterned belt to bring the colors out. With a little creativity, an old scarf can also become a new belt. Wear your belt about three inches from your waist so people will notice other parts of your body. If you want your hips to look smaller, choose a belt with the same color as your dress.

Lastly, stay on top of the fashion world and get the latest trends from fashion magazines. This will help you know what’s hot and what’s not. For those who are fond of black outfits, a good belt in any color can do wonders. If you don’t want to emphasize your waist, get a colorful clutch. Better still, use some bold-colored heels to look fantastic.
